50th Anniversary of Women at Trinity Hall
In October 1976, Trinity Hall began a new chapter in its history when it became the sixth college of the University of Cambridge to admit female members. The College welcomed its first female Fellows and postgraduate students, followed by the undergraduates pictured in this photo in 1977.
From October 2026 to June 2028, we are marking the 50th anniversary of the admission of women to the College with a series of events, lectures and stories celebrating our community and the people who have shaped it.
The THwomen50 anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the College’s history, highlight the importance of ensuring higher education remains accessible to all, and celebrate our community’s positive impact on the people and world around them. Our alumnae have forged paths in leadership, science, the arts, technology and the humanities. This anniversary is a chance to celebrate those achievements and inspire future generations.
