Give 2geTHer

In 2021, our community joined forces during our second giving day: 449 donors donated £224,803 over 36 hours.

Your gifts have assisted students focus on their studies, not financial pressures. The collective support received has provided Cambridge Bursaries for 96 undergraduates, given brilliant postgraduate students the opportunity to change the world, supported the mental health and wellbeing of our students, and so much more. Your contribution to these initiatives has played an important part, helping our students to thrive.

These are the causes that your kind donations helped make possible:

  • Additional bursaries to support even more undergraduates
  • Supporting students from under-represented ethnic communities
  • Supporting PhD students with tenth-term funding
  • Ensuring no one is prevented from taking part in choral activities because of financial worries
  • Providing more sports facilities so all members can take part in physical activity
  • Developing the programme of Law Society events and ensuring they remain inclusive.

“This scholarship has been essential for me to continue my PhD, particularly as I have had to extend into a fourth year due to COVID-related health issues. It has been life-changing. This scholarship has meant that I have been able to pursue my PhD and, as I write-up my thesis ahead of starting a post-doc in Munich, a career in academia too. I am so sincerely grateful for this scholarship and the security it has given me in these past four years. Thank you.”

Here are the top 3 fundraising initiatives from last year’s giving day:

  • General Student Support – £87,198.00 from 174 donors
  • Sports Facilities – £12,652.00 from 16 donors
  • Students from under-represented ethnic communities – £12,460.00 from 67 donors

“As we’ve emerged from the restrictions of the global pandemic, it has been a source of great joy to our students and all within our community to see the renaissance of such a vibrant musical life here at Trinity Hall. Thank you so much for your generous support!”

– Andrew Arthur, Staff Fellow, Director of Music & Director of Studies in Music – the Trinity Hall Choir received £2,727.00 from 21 donors during Give 2geTHer

The first £77,000 given was matched pound for pound, thanks to the generosity of three alumni who offered a matched gift. We also had four successful fundraising challenges that unlocked even more funds to support students at Trinity Hall.

Some of the support received towards sports facilities allowed us to purchase new basketball hoops for our Wychfield Site. Here’s Calvin Hartley (2019, History & Politics), President of the TH Basketball Society, throwing a few balls:

The funds raised have supported Trinity Hall’s mission to invest in educating undergraduates to the highest level, as well as supporting the research of postgraduate students – empowering them all to have a positive impact on the world in whatever field they pursue.

Your support and kindness have helped make it possible for more students to make the most of the life-changing education and opportunities that Trinity Hall can provide. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your ongoing generosity which makes such a difference to our students and Fellows.

On behalf of everyone here at the College, a huge thank you!

*When the Give 2geTHer thank you video was produced we still had gifts coming in, that’s why the amount we report on this page is actually even more impressive, thanks to your generosity
