Honorary Professor of Early Modern History; Walter Grant Scott Fellow and College Associate Professor in History
Professor Jackson is an Honorary Professor of Early Modern History and Walter Grant Scott Fellow in History.
Her research interests lie in the rich and complex history of seventeenth-century Britain. Her most recent book, Devil-Land. England under Siege 1588-1688 was published by Allen Lane/Penguin in 2021, and was chosen as a ‘Book of the Year’ by The Times, the Times Literary Supplement, the Daily Telegraph, The New Statesman and The Sydney Morning Herald. Professor Jackson has previous been Director of Studies for all parts of the History and History & Politics Triposes and was the College’s Senior Tutor from 2013 to 2023.
