Alex Radford, President of the June Event committee 2022
Alex Radford is in her fourth year at Trinity Hall, reading Management Studies, and is President of the June Event Committee 2022.
What drew you to your role in the June Event?
I joined the June Event committee as a fresher, planning the non-musical entertainment for the 2019 event, Effervescence. Being a part of the committee in my first year was a great way to get to know College. I got to turn a whole room into a ball pit – I loved seeing the reactions of people in College as they saw the spaces that they knew so well transformed into something entirely different. Since then, I’ve been JCR Ents president, President of the June Event twice, and even chaired the May Ball Presidents’ Committee.

What do you enjoy most about studying/living in Cambridge?
Term-time can get a bit hectic, but the best parts of Cambridge are the things that you manage to squeeze in around academic work – this year, that’s been planning the June Event.
Why did you choose to study Management Studies?
I had a great time on the Natural Sciences course, but I wanted to develop some of the skills that I’d picked up from all of my extra-curriculars. Swapping onto the Management Studies course has let me solidify these skills (and allowed me to stay at Trinity Hall for another year so that I can finally see a June Event through).
What’s the best thing about Trinity Hall?
Trinity Hall sometimes lives under Trinity’s shadow, but we’re a much friendlier, closer-knit, and more welcoming College. The June Event is an opportunity for us to celebrate our community, which makes Trinity Hall so distinct and special.
What’s are you looking forward to most at the June Event?
The music! Our amazing music officer Zac has been hard at work creating one of the busiest and best music line-ups the June Event has ever seen. You can expect to see over 50 acts across six different stages.
You can’t reveal this year’s theme yet but what’s your favourite theme of June Events of old?
Unfortunately, the event didn’t go ahead due to COVID, but last year’s theme was meant to be “Midas Touch”. By the sounds of it, Dan, Chloe and their committee had some truly golden ideas.
Tickets for the June Event will be available from 1 March. For more information see the official June Event website.
