Biography

Simon Moore is a Full Professor in the Computer Architecture Group in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge. Simon teaches Computer Architecture (the design of computer hardware) and also undertakes research in the area. His current research is focused on directing research at the CHERI Research Centre (https://cheri.cst.cam.ac.uk/) that leads the way in the design of fundamentally more secure computer systems. CHERI is part of the UK Semiconductor Strategy.

Simon has won the University of Cambridge’s top teaching prize: the Pilkington Teaching prize. Simon has supervised over 30 Ph.D. students many of whom have won awards including Daniel Greenfield (BCS Distinguished Dissertation Award for the top Ph.D. thesis in Computer Science in the UK) and Rosemary Francis (Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering). Together with Prof. Gunes, he will be guiding your undergraduate studies.
