WYNG-Trinity Hall Connect

Trinity Hall undergraduates and postgraduates (including those in their final year) are eligible to apply for WYNG-Trinity Hall Connect (“the Connect”) – an exchange initiative between Trinity Hall, Cambridge and the WYNG Foundation in Hong Kong.

The successful applicant will travel to Hong Kong to work with the WYNG Foundation or Other NGOs sharing the WYNG Foundation office premises for a period of 3 weeks during the summer (July to September).

About the Connect and the WYNG Foundation

The WYNG Foundation focuses on physical, social, mental and cultural wellbeing. Current topics of interest for WYNG and the Other NGOs are Hong Kong-related, and include (but are not limited to):

  • use of AI in law,
  • privacy and data,
  • water technology,
  • air quality,
  • peace education,
  • women/minority rights and empowerment,
  • public interest law,
  • plastic waste reduction,
  • the natural environment.

Applicants will need to show flexibility and be prepared to help out with a variety of tasks.

The successful applicant will have the cost of travel to Hong Kong, visas (if required), travel insurance for the trip and accommodation covered for the duration of the Connect. Living costs during the duration of the Connect are also offered. It is expected the successful applicant will write a short report at the end of their experience, which would be shared with the College, the WYNG Foundation, and the Other NGOs.

Asian Charity Services

The organisation provides pro bono capacity-building services for small-to-medium-sized NGOs in Hong Kong, by connecting them with businesses and social-minded individuals and organizations which can provide advice, funding and other resources.

Resolve Foundation

Resolve supports emerging leaders representing marginalised and disadvantaged communities, and empowers them to be changemakers and social catalysts. The organisation provides access to seed funding, support and resources when they are ready to launch meaningful community projects and initiatives.

Social Impact Partners (SIP)

HELP for domestic workers

HELP supports migrant domestic workers through its core pillars of Preventing Crisis, Responding to Needs and Building Resilient Communities. It offers case counselling, education on rights and responsibilities, emergency shelter, mental well-being support, and opportunities for community leadership HELP also serves as a valuable resource for employers seeking guidance on the rights and entitlements of domestic workers and resolving conflicts.
