The WongAvery Music Gallery is one of 14 buildings shortlisted in the 2023 RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) East Awards.
The music space was officially opened last year by The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO.
The shortlisted projects are:

- Duke Street Riverside by Hudson Architects

- Ponds Rough Maypole Green by Neven Sidor
- Riverview by Mole Architects
- The Boathouse by Ashworth Parkes Architects
- The Digi-Tech Factory by Coffey Architects
- Thorpeness Beach House by IF_DO
- Watton Road by Emil Eve Architects
- WongAvery Music Gallery by Níall McLaughlin Architects
RIBA East Jury Chair Thomas Miller, Director at Haysom Ward Miller Architects, said: “The number and high standard of entries this year -represen
ting a wide variety of building types, scales and budgets – is testament once again to the skill of the architects working across the eastern region.”
All shortlisted projects will be assessed by a regional jury, and the winning projects will be announced later this spring.
The music gallery provides an inspiring venue for students, Fellows and visiting musicians to practise and perform.
The transformation of the Court has been made possible through a generous donation from the Avery-Tsui Foundation. Dennis Avery was an alumnus (1980), Honorary Fellow and donor to Trinity Hall. The Court was named for Dennis in October 2006.
