We are delighted to announce the launch of Trinity Hall Chapel Choir’s latest CD, ‘See, see the Word is incarnate’, directed by Andrew Arthur, Director of Music.

Recorded before Covid, the album features a wonderful selection of choral and instrumental music by the great Jacobean composers Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Tomkins and Thomas Weelkes. Following the widespread critical acclaim of their previous releases the choir has, once again, joined forces with the College’s professional Ensemble-in-Residence ‘Orpheus Britannicus’ and the wonderful viol consort ‘Newe Vialles’.

Andrew said: “This is a magnificent achievement for Trinity Hall Chapel Choir. After all of the difficulties endured over the past 18 months or so, it’s wonderful to approach a new academic year by celebrating the release of this disc and, with it, to recall the fulfilling experience of working on this project with present and former members of the choir back in August 2019.”

The disc will be officially released on the Resonus label on 1 October. However, copies can be purchased directly from the College now at a special discounted pre-release price of £10.00. To purchase the CD either visit the Porter’s Lodge on our Central Site (Trinity Lane) or our online Gift Shop.

Music plays a very important role in the life of Trinity Hall.

All genres of music are encouraged and there are countless opportunities to get involved, whether by simply making use of the College’s musical facilities, by singing in the chapel choir, or by attending or performing in one of the many eclectic solo or ensemble concerts presented by the Trinity Hall Music Society.

There is more information available on the College’s music pages.
