A roundtable discussion on the experience of female founders of later-stage startups.
Join Trinity Hall alumna Laura Grimwood (2010, Natural Sciences; CEO, Co-Laboratories), Ben Hartley (Director, ideaSpace), and Xann Schwinn (Co-founder, Cambridge Female Founders Network) for this in-person roundtable discussion open to all interested in the Cambridge entrepreneurship ecosystem.
This is the second in a two-part series with Trinity Hall exploring the founder’s journey in Cambridge, spotlighting the technical ingenuity and practical realities of women-led startups across the cluster.
Participants

Laura Grimwood
Currently CEO of a Science and technology incubator and services company called Co-Laboratories, founded in partnership with Lab Launch. Laura has a history of working in early stage biotechnology with an entrepreneurial perspective. Skilled in cell culture, cellular assays, science to business communication, event management, lab building and problem solving. Laura studied Natural Sciences focused on cellular development, pathology and neuroscience at the University of Cambridge. She is extremely interested in groundbreaking tech, brains and how scientific collaboration will save the world.

Ben Hartley
Ben is the Director of ideaSpace, the University of Cambridge’s startup community and incubator, supporting founders and early-stage ventures. With a background spanning entrepreneurship, film production, and service as a Royal Navy helicopter pilot, he brings a practical, high-performance mindset to building thriving startup ecosystems. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and has a strong interest in performance psychology.

Xann Schwinn
Xann is a Co-Founder & CEO of the Cambridge Female Founders Network, a founder-led non-profit built as a coalition community model to drive collective success for women entrepreneurs. As part of this work she spends much of her time working directly with founders to identify needs, strength collaboration, and shape the systems that enable women-led ventures to thrive. She is also a music healthtech founder pioneering voice-based wellbeing tools.
