First-class reviews for the Chapel Choir’s recent release
Trinity Hall Chapel Choir’s recent musical release Membra Jesu nostri has been very well-received by reviewers. The Times said Membra Jesu nostri is “a fresh and touching new reading” while Early Music Review notes “the choir sings with conviction and clarity”.
The Passiontide Cantata-cycle ‘Membra Jesu nostri’, was composed by the great seventeenth-century Danish composer, Dieterich Buxtehude (1637-1707). The choir has, once again, joined forces with the College’s professional Ensemble-in-Residence Orpheus Britannicus and the wonderful viol consort Newe Vialles.
Congratulations to the Choir, Director of Music Andrew Arthur, Orpheus Britannicus and Newe Vialles.
