The Trinity Hall Association invites all alumni together with their guests to a drinks reception and dinner The Hepworth Wakefield, art gallery, on Saturday 17 November. Drinks will be served from 7pm in the Cafe Bar during which time there will be a tour of the Gallery. Dinner will be served at approximately 8pm in the Auditorium.

Booking

Online booking is now available – please click here. The cost is £40 per head (subsidised by the THA) however a limited number of half price tickets are available for alumni who matriculated in 2008 or later. The ticket price includes four courses with wine and a tour of the Gallery. You are invited to bring a guest. Booking closes at midday on Monday 5 November.

Tours

During the drinks reception, you will have the opportunity to go on a tour of the Gallery. The tours will commence at 7.15pm and 7.30pm and will last 30 minutes. The group size is limited to 15 guests; please indicate which tour you would to join when booking online.

Tour details: The 30-minute Gallery Insights Tour will include insight into the Wakefield Permanent Art Collection held here at The Hepworth Wakefield followed by delving further into the life and work of both Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore. Hepworth and Moore, both from the Wakefield area, were supported by the original Wakefield Art Gallery early in their careers and went on to become two of the most important artists of the 20th century. The tour will look at their working methods, influences and prominence within sculpture.

The tour will conclude with a brief introduction to the Hepworth Prize for Sculpture. The prize was established in 2016 as a biennial award recognising a British or UK-based artist of any age, at any stage of their career who has made a significant contribution to the development of contemporary sculpture. This exhibition will present art work by the shortlisted artists Michael Dean, Mona Hatoum, Phillip Lai, Magali Reus and Cerith Wyn Evans.

Cancellations

To cancel a booking, please email thaevents@trinhall.cam.ac.uk or contact +44 (0)1223 332550 as soon as possible.

If you cancel five days or more before an event the full ticket price will be refunded. Requests for late refunds will be considered by the THA Committee on an individual basis as we appreciate that sometimes exceptional circumstances prevent attendance at an event.

The Trinity Hall Association cannot accept responsibility if weather or disruption to travel prevents you from attending and therefore no refund will be made.
