The session with Tamzin Byrne, Programme Manager at Cambridge Social Ventures, will take place at 17:00 (BST) on Tuesday 4 May. Her presentation will last approximately 1 hour and will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A. There is no charge to attend, however booking is required. The webinar will be hosted using Zoom.
THEN webinar: ‘Finding work and internships in social innovation’
In this THEN webinar, Tamzin Byrne will highlight opportunities for summer projects and internships in social purpose organisations. Most will be with early stage social enterprises – start-ups which have a social mission at the core of their business. She will also share some insight into what life is like in a social venture start-up to give a sense of what you might expect from work experience in these exciting small businesses.
This talk will be best suited to people who are early in their career: students, recent graduates and postdocs or early-career research fellows. But anyone considering a change of direction is welcome to attend! Many of these opportunities are open to all.
Tamzin is currently Programme Manager at Cambridge Social Ventures, supporting entrepreneurs with a social mission to get started and grow. Prior to this, she worked in science communication, journalism and community development, in Australia, Kenya and the UK… not the career she thought a Bachelors of Science would give her!
