After 46 years of service to Trinity Hall Boat Club Martin Fordham will be retiring as Boatman this September. Over this long period, through the Club’s many highs (and occasional lows), through changes to the Boathouse, and while so many crews and coaches have enjoyed playing their part in the story of our Club, Martin has been the one constant. As such, THBC will be holding a dinner in Trinity Hall, on Friday 7th September 2018, to celebrate Martin’s enormous contribution to the Club. All THBC members are invited to attend.

Memory Book: 46 years as Boatman

To commemorate Martin’s time as Boatman, THBC would like to create a book that captures his time here and gives him something to look back on in the years to come. As such, we are asking alumni to send in stories, quotes, memories and pictures about Martin from their time at THBC. The book will be presented to him at the dinner. Copies will also be available to purchase however you will be contacted about this at a later date.

We have created a Google form through which you can submit anything that you would like to add to the book: The deadline for submitting text and photos through the form is 31st July 2018. If you have any problems using the form, would prefer to send the content in a different way or would like to be involved in the production of the book, please contact Lizzie Gaunt at
