Access to an extensive range of electronic resources is offered by the University of Cambridge and the collection is growing all the time. You can even access the majority of electronic resources off-campus using your Raven password. If you have any queries or problems when accessing or using electronic resources, please contact library staff.
Most ebooks can be found using iDiscover, the library catalogue. Simply search in the way as you would for a printed book, and then restrict the search to ebooks by clicking the 'ebook' icon at the top of the results list. Click on the title of the ebook to open the full record, and a link to the ebook is provided. If you're on-campus, clicking the link will bring up the ebook immediately, and if you're off-campus, you'll need to log in via the automatic Raven authentication page first.
For more information on accessing and using ebooks, have a look at the ebooks@cambridge website. There's also a handy leaflet in the library entrance hall.
Like ebooks, most ejournals can also be found through iDiscover which searches the content of journals as well as their titles. If you're looking for a specific article--from a reading list, for example--just search for the title of the journal and restrict the results by selecting the 'ejournal' icon at the top. A link to the ejournal is provided in the record, and then you'll have to navigate to the volume and issue required. As with ebooks, if you're off-campus, a Raven password is required.
Lots of ejournal articles can be downloaded as PDF files and then printed or sent to e-reader devices. For more guidance on accessing ejournals, take a look at the eresources@cambridge website, or check out the leaflet in the entrance hall. Again, please contact library staff if you want any more information.
