Desk Clearing in the library- Maximising study space!

As it’s exam term we have now re-introduced desk clearing in the library. This means that from Monday 23 April, desks will be cleared of unattended belongings every two hours (between 9am and 8pm).

Desks will also be fully cleared every weekday morning with all bags, books, papers & laptops left in a specific location on each floor.

The Library is a working space for everyone. Study space is in very high demand, especially coming up to and during exam time. The Jerwood library gets very busy this term and everyone who needs to use a desk should have an equal chance to use them. This means that if you are leaving the library for an extended period (particularly overnight) you should clear the work space, or it may well be cleared for you!

Library system downtime

Cambridge libraries are getting a new library system in January. This lets you borrow & return books, check your library account and pay fines.

Our self-issue machine is unavailable while the system is offline, but you can still borrow books from the Library Office or by using the manual borrowing register.

Books may be returned to the book returns box as usual.

Vacation loans have been extended and are now due back on Thursday 1st February.  You won’t need to renew them and you won’t be fined for them.

Please don’t worry and do let us know if you have any questions.
