Back to Life After Uni ->

VictoriaStudying aside, Trinity Hall was all about getting involved. Every day there was the opportunity to take part in new activities, meet new people and share in the fun and good times that were had by all. I loved playing sport (netball, badminton, tennis) and the social evenings that accompanied each of those. The Preston Society played a big part in my time at Trinity Hall – I was involved with four productions during my time there. You didn't have to be sporty or theatrical to join in; there were social groups for everyone – fine diners, Freshers, Irish students, choral singers – there was always something to do and people to meet. There are so many more things that I enjoyed about Trinity Hall that it makes me wonder how I ever got any work done!

I now work in the City as an Aviation Underwriter for a Lloyd's syndicate called CV Starr. I underwrite risks in the Aerospace industry. Amongst other things, the type of risks I see each day include International Airports, Air Traffic Control Providers and  Component Part Manufacturers. It is a vibrant and dynamic industry and certainly one of the only professions in the City with a good work/life balance. My French and Spanish skills sometimes come into use as we deal with worldwide aviation risks and insurance professionals. The management part of my degree provided me with a greater understanding of all aspects of running a business, which I observe on a day-to-day basis – maybe one day it will be me doing the running!
