Hannah, BA Geography
Being quite small and liking the idea of being rowed around in a boat without the physical effort, I decided to try coxing in my first term at Trinity Hall. Although at first my steering left a lot to be desired, after several minor crashes (!), I soon got the hang of the controls and really started to enjoy coxing.
One of my favourite memories from first year was when our boat achieved ‘blades’ (the highest award in the end of year inter-collegiate rowing competition, the May Bumps) and the whole river was lined with supporters congratulating us!

Rowing is part of Cambridge’s culture, but if, like me, you don’t fancy the physical effort, then I’d definitely recommend giving coxing a go!
