Living costs at Cambridge compare quite favourably with other universities. At Trinity Hall we guarantee College accommodation for the three years of your course (and, if you go on for a fourth year, we will do our best to accommodate you in College). This means that you only have to pay rent for the time you are here, and the rates are less than you would have to pay commercially. In 2017-18, first-year undergraduate room rents range from around £70 to £143 per week and the average rent is around £115 per week. Rents are calculated according to factors such as room location and size.
Aside from room rent and other college charges (eg. kitchen charge, laundry, heating and lighting), your living costs will obviously vary depending on your lifestyle.
In 2017-18, an average UK/EU student at Trinity Hall might be expected to incur annual living costs of around £8,960, including rent and college charges. An average Overseas student might be expected to need around £10,080.
