Professor Jane Clarke announced as Wolfson College's next President

On 2 March, Wolfson College announced Professor Jane Clarke’s election as the College’s next President, succeeding Professor Sir Richard Evans. Professor Clarke will take up post on 1 October 2017.

Professor Clarke is a Trinity Hall Fellow in Natural Sciences (Chemical Biology) and was recently awarded the Protein Society’s Stein and Moore Award, which she was presented with at The Protein Society’s 30th Anniversary Symposium in Baltimore, Maryland, USA (16-19 July 2016). The award honours leaders in protein science who have made sustained, high impact research contributions to the field. Professor Clarke also received the 2015/16 Linus Pauling Medal from University of Stanford in recognition of her outstanding achievements in chemical sciences and was elected a Fellow of the American Biophysical Society.

In 2016, Professor Clarke delivered Trinity Hall’s annual Milestone Lecture. She spoke about the links between protein folding and disease, how she came to her research career and why she is passionate that girls and young women should have every opportunity to have a career in science.
