Admission of new fellows

14 October 2016

At the Admission of Fellows and Scholars on 11 October we welcomed two new Honorary Fellows and two new Emeritus Fellows.

Honorary Fellows
Mary Hockaday (1981) is Controller BBC World Service English, responsible for the BBC World Service’s international radio and digital services. From 2009-2014 she was Head of the BBC Newsroom, overseeing the BBC’s core news services on radio, television and online.
Rachel Weisz (1988) is an actor who has starred in many films including 'The Mummy', 'Enemy at the Gates', 'About a Boy' and 'The Constant Gardener', for which she won an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Professor Michael Kelly (1971)

Other Fellows admitted to their Fellowships were:

  • Dr Amaleena Damlé (Fellow Commoner)
  • Dr Jasmin Fisher (Staff Fellow in Natural Biological Sciences)
  • Dr Heather Inwood (Staff Fellow in Asian & Middle Eastern Studies (Chinese))
  • Dr Claudia Marx (Fellow Commoner)
  • Dr Andrew Sanchez (Staff Fellow in Social Anthropology)
  • Professor Jens Zimmermann (Visiting Fellow)
