Work begins on the boathouse

26 May 2014

boathouse modelPhase one of the development of the boathouse begins this week. This involves building an extension to the east which will act as a new workshop.

Phase two will begin over the summer and involves converting the existing workshop to new changing rooms on the groundfloor, internal reorganisation to create improved training and gym facilities and an office for the coach. External works to windows and improvements to the roof are needed, as well as rennovating the facade of the boathouse and removing the external staircase.

Funds permitting, phase three will take place next year and involve building an extension to the west which will house a rowing tank - a unique facility which is much-needed to help with training.
