Professor Colin Austin, 1941 - 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Professor Colin Austin, who died on 13 August 2010 after a long and valiant fight against illness. Colin joined the College as a Research Fellow in 1965, and remained as a Fellow until his retirement as Professor of Greek in 2008. He continued as an Emeritus Fellow of the College. Colin Austin was one of the leading scholars of Greek of his generation, and was a world authority on Greek tragedy and comedy.

 

A Memorial Meeting for Professor Austin was held in Trinity Hall on Saturday 12 March 2011 at 11am. Links to the Addresses are given are below.
