Duvets and Pillows sent to Zimbabwe

1 October 2009

zimbabweEvery year the College renews all its pillows and duvets.  As you can imagine it is a very difficult task finding good homes for them all.  Last year, through the help of Dr Jeremy Morris, Eva Crofts and the Zimbabwean Catholic Community UK, we were able to give comfort and warmth to many people across Zimbabwe.  This year at the end of September, we are delighted to say that another shipment is on its way to help hundreds more people stay warm this winter, and we are hoping that in future years we will be able to continue helping those suffering in Zimbabwe.

Sadly the cost of transporting these items is very high so we are appealing for donations, no matter how small, to fund this project.  We have a collection box on the counter in the Porters' Lodge for anyone who would like to make a donation.

Thank you so much.

Yvonne Chapman
Housekeeping Services Manager

A big thank you to all the wonderful people of Zimbabwe who helped on Friday 18th September to load the duvets and pillows into the container.  Special thanks to Father Munyongani, Father Kambire, Joe Faroma,  The Housekeeping Team, Dr Jeremy Morris and Eva Crofts.
