Director of Music has two compositions performed

25 September 2006

'Written on a train', Richar Baker's commission from the Borletti-Buitoni Trust will be premiered by mezzo-soprano Christianne Stotijn, and other Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award-holders under the direction of Christian Tetzlaff in Snape Maltings on Saturday 30 September, and performed again the next night (Sunday 1 Oct) in London, in the Royal Festival Hall, before going on a short tour to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Vienna.

Don't be alarmed that the piece is not included in the advertised programme - it is a surprise 'encore' for all the participants to perform together.

Also, on Wednesday 2 August 2006 at 23.30, a miniature for solo percussion (and a short interview) was included in th BBC Radio 4 programme 'White Nights', devised and presented by poet Lavinia Greenlaw. More details here.

Dr Richard Baker is Fellow-Commoner and Director of Music at Trinity Hall.
