Whatever the length of your studies at Trinity Hall, if you have matriculated, you automatically become one of our alumni and a member of the Trinity Hall Association. The Trinity Hall Association (THA) was founded by alumni in 1904, with the twin aims of "keeping members in touch with each other and with the College." Over a century later it still encourages and enables a variety of activities to support those aims, whilst providing a framework for Alumni participation in a strong working partnership with the College.
The THA of today represents every era of alumni through its steering committee (the THA Committee) that is composed of Year and Grad Reps. It arranges events in London, Cambridge and the regions. It is also involved in a careers initiative, putting current students in touch with alumni, which will be expanded through the new website.
The THA Awards are a new addition to the range of grants and bursaries available within the College. We are sponsoring annual awards for work or projects of a humanitarian or community-enhancing nature, which will be open to all under-and postgraduate students. Details of these awards are available from the Tutorial Office. Reports written by the students regarding their time working on these projects are available here.
The THA also discusses with the College matters connected to the alumni and is consulted on Development activities. Unlike some alumni organisations, we have our own endowment, thanks to the generosity of an alumnus, which allows membership to be free and events to be subsidised. It is not a fundraising arm for the College, although many individual alumni choose to help the College in a variety of ways and the THA is supportive of the College’s Development effort.
The THA can be contacted in College through the Deputy Development Director (tel +44 (0)1223 766345) who can put you in touch with the President and the Secretary.
