In addition to our long-term strategic fundraising, the College also looks to raise money that can be disbursed immediately to meet the College's most pressing needs. Funds raised for this purpose form an Annual Fund. The Annual fund allows a large number of relatively small donations to have a major impact, helping to reduce the strain on our endowment, which has to subsidise the cost of educating every undergraduate by around £5,000 per year.
The challenges we face are constant and more still needs to be done to safeguard the future of Trinity Hall for the next generation. We have identified several areas of funding for 2012:
College Discretion: This enables us to target funds to where they are needed most.
Regeneration: Having developed modern accommodation at Wychfield, we must focus on the refurbishment of rooms on the Trinity Lane site, whilst remaining sensitive to the heritage of the College’s buildings. A plan of refurbishment has been devised, beginning with P staircase later this year.
Clubs & Societies: Trinity Hall provides a stimulating community with numerous student clubs and societies covering a wide range of activities. We want to ensure that these clubs continue to thrive so that our students will benefit from an all-round education. The Boat Club require funding to improve the boat house and their training equipment and many teams need additional funding for kit.
Student support: We are committed to ensure that the Hall operates a “needs-blind” admissions policy, and that no individual is excluded because of background or financial circumstances. We aim to increase the number of bursaries and awards, including travel grants, that are available to students whilst in residence.
Resources & Facilities: In an increasingly competitive world, we are keen to ensure that our students are provided with the best facilities and academic resources. These range from a well-stocked library to up-to-date computer facilities, and from graduate conference expenses to the purchase of academic equipment for certain subject groups.
The Annual Fund has had a huge impact on the College and its community. It has been used to help alleviate student hardship by providing bursaries, studentships and awards. It has enabled us to undertake the regeneration projects on cnetral site and improve the resources available for the student community. It helps ensure that we can attract the best students and academics and that no student from financial hardship whilst in residence or is unable to attend because of financial background.
Previous campaigns have helped to:
To thank all those who have regularly given their support to the College's Annual Fund, the 1350 Society has been launched in 2010. Members who give over a three year period will be invited to join the Society and invited to a triennial gathering. The inaugural event will be in June 2013. Projects supported by the Annual Fund will carry the 1350 Society logo.
Every Easter a team of students calls around 900 alumni. Our annual Telephone Campaigns are designed as a way of keeping members up to date with the latest college news, an opportunity to exchange experiences of Trinity Hall and re-engage with College life and as a mechanism for asking for feedback and answering members questions. It is also an opportunity for alumni to make a gift to the Annual Fund. This can be done securely over the phone by credit card or paperless direct debit. Collectively our Telephone Campaigns have raised over £1.3Million which has made a huge difference to the College and the student community.

For more information contact Rachelle. Please note that we write to everyone before telephoning them and there is an opportunity to opt out of receiving a call if you wish. We also make a number of calls to thank our donors from previous years.
In recognition of their fiftieth anniversary since matriculation the class of 1958 established the 58:08 fund to benefit the matriculands of 2008. Inspired by its success other year groups are now following their example. If you would like to discuss setting up a similar fund please contact Jocelyn.
The Old Library and the Boat Club have recently established supporters groups
Old Library - to help conserve and catalogue the Library's rare book collection.
THBC - to help improve the boat house and their training equipment. Alumni support has enabled them to purchase a new men's IV.

Not only are our former members asked to help – every Fellow of the College supports the Annual Fund, as does every caller in the Telephone Campaign. We are committed to supporting the College and our students, and we hope that you, too, can help. All gifts to the College's Annual Fund are currently gifts to the University's 800th Campaign.
