Postdoctoral Research Associates
Trinity Hall offers a vibrant and committed postdoctoral community. The Postdoctoral Research Associateship (PDRA) provides a college membership for postdoctoral researchers in the University, giving them the opportunity to participate in the lively academic, social and cultural atmosphere of a Cambridge college. Positions are advertised each September, to start with the academic year in October.
At Trinity Hall, PDRAs are part of the Middle Combination Room (MCR), the community of all graduate students, fourth-year undergraduates and postdocs. PDRAs contribute a valuable element to the MCR of individuals who are one stage further advanced along their academic careers than the graduate students themselves, but who still share many common interests. PDRAs enjoy most of the normal privileges and facilities of the College available to graduate students, including the sporting, recreational, library, and computing facilities.
The MCR provides an extensive programme of events, both social and intellectual, throughout the year. Full catering is available in term, at reasonable prices, and more limited catering available throughout the rest of the year. Weekly graduate formal dinners are popular. The PDRA community also arranges a number of events specifically for PDRAs, including regular Postdoc formals throughout the terms.
The Post-Doc Representative acts a representative and point of contact for the postdoctoral members of the MCR. The PDRA rep sits on the MCR committee, organises postdoc activities and provides a voice for postdocs in the MCR and the wider College. Currently Dr Sebastian Fica is the PDRA rep and may be contacted by email.
