Binding:20th c., half brown leather and brown cloth over paste boards, red and yellow endbands
Notes:Working MS of book published London, 1885. Main text written on column 1 of rectos only; MS bound back to front, (i.e. fol. 1 at end of present MS) presumably because leaves torn from notebooks leave text very close to edge which would have been obscured in gutter if bound correctly. Numerous corrections, annotations and notes, occasionally in coloured ink, written in column 2 and on back of leaves. Fawcett was a Fellow of Trinity Hall 1856 – 1884; Stephen was a clerical Fellow 1854 – 1868, and was elected an Honorary Fellow in 1891.
