Teas, Tarts and Tulips!
14 April 2014
On Sunday 13th April 2014 we opened the gardens at Wychfield as part of The NGS (National Garden Scheme), which raises money for a variety of Nursing Charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Queens Nursing Institute amongst others. We as a team also nominated an additional charity to recieve 25% of the money raised. This year we chose CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
The day was a great success, with over a hundred visitors enjoying the gardens as well as the homemade teas and cakes. Warm weather, drifts of Tulips, early flowering herbaceous plants, along with a flush of emerging deciduous leaves made for a beautiful day out.
Special thanks must go to friends and family who worked with us to make it such an enjoyable day and to all the visitors in helping us to raise a grand total of just over £800!
